September 4-10, 2011 Suicide PREVENTION week Suicide prevention is everyone’s business and anyone can participate in National Suicide Prevention Week. Hawaii suicide was the leading cause of fatal injuries between 2006 and 2010, according to studies. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, public school students are the highest in the nation in planning a suicide at 16% and 8.9 % seriously considered attempting suicide, and 12.8 attempted suicide.
