School psychologist fired after falsifying student evaluations

School psychologist fired after falsifying student evaluations: "The Bartow County Board of Education on Wednesday voted unanimously to terminate one of six school system psychologists -- Melissa Rahbe -- who fraudulently completed about 118 psychoeducational ev..."

Aloha,
You know that
taking short cuts is never a good idea but then why do some people still take them?
It amazes me that an expert in this field would make up assessment results when they know the long term effects that these scores may have on their future education or special education placement.

It's true. We all fall short of perfect sometimes...myself included. I know that when things get overwhelming for me, I tend to shut down and not perform as well as I can.

How can we prevent this type of slacker habit?
Well, I have to give myself the same advice I'd tell a student who was feeling overwhelmed:
1) Write down a manageable list of "to-dos"
2) Reward yourself with breaks after completing a task.
{During your break you may want to go for a walk, paint your nails, or call your mom. If I were you though, I'd stay away from the Mai-Tai's until you're done with work.}
3) Don't forget about the Big Picture "Why am I doing this? What is my ultimate goal?"
{you don't want to spend extra time on unimportant details....like adding extra report blurbs that describe the statistical significance of each subtest in the KABC-2}

Anyhow, let's work on not taking short cuts with our career, our health, and our relationships. Find out what your biggest goals are (get a raise, get married and have children, assist students to find their academic/life potential) and how to reach those goals.

Hope you all have a great Easter.

Much Aloha,

Kels
